The Art of Connection

FOUNDATION SIX: CONNECTION

I decided to start with Foundation Six: Connection for the first blog post because it really encapsulates the mission of Felixology. We, at Felixology, aim to connect people with knowledge and information, with other people, with other aspects of themselves, and with both their current community and the community of the past. To illustrate this, we have broken down Foundation Six into five different building blocks.

Connection With Yourself

Felix was a deeply introspective person. He sought to understand his innermost thoughts and emotions so he could live life thoughtfully, intentionally, and authentically. Some of the ways he practiced this in daily life were by writing in a journal, Tarot and astrology readings, creating Vision Boards, and keeping an art journal for sketching, painting, and collaging.

Felix knew that increasing the understanding and connection with oneself provides better mental health and wellbeing, promotes resilience, reduces stress, improves confidence and clarity, and increases intuition. We have the tools to foster your inner connection- journals, Tarot decks, art supplies, and books for all ages, both fiction and nonfiction.

At Felixology we provide the fur tile ground to discover yourself, to reach out of your comfort zone.

Connection With Family

Strong family connection is the foundation of Foundation Six, and all the Foundations of Felixology. These early, loving connections build a strong sense of belonging, increase self-esteem, promote resilience, develop strong values and identity, foster critical thinking and communication skills, and provide the basis for better physical and mental health.

Felixology has books and other items for all ages making it the perfect place for families to spend time together.

Connection With Others

With its two couches, craft table, and snack and beverage table Felixology is the perfect place to meet with others for conversation, commiseration, and collaboration.

Connection With Your Community

Not only can you connect with friends and family already known to you at Felixology, but it is a great place to share experiences with other community members who are unknown to you. Through these experiences and connections strangers become friends.

Connection With Your Roots And Ancestors

Understanding our past as a person and on a national and cultural level, helps us contextualize the present and plan for the future. We have books for all ages that teach about the past, help to trace our roots, celebrate and honor our ancestors, honor the indigenous peoples of the land that is now called America and share their wisdom, and tell stories of those who have gone before us, both in historical fiction and in nonfiction.

Housed in an historic building, built in 1888, Felixology brings together the past, present, and future.
